Yarn-Over, Ligature… Same Difference.
lig·a·ture [lig-uh-cher, -choor] noun. — Printing. a character or type combining two or more letters. (Yarn overs aren't all that different)

My very fist sweater is complete! All in all, I liked the pattern, and i think it was a great sweater to start with, but now it's starting to get warm and I want to knit something I can wear. Also, it ended up being a little on the small side which was a good learning experience.

Thermal (pattern) (ravelry) by Laura Chau
Source: knitty.com
Recipient: Myself
Occasion: My first sweater!
Completed: April 3, 2008

Yarn: 6.75 skeins of Sandes Garn Sisu in red
Needles: US 2.5 and 3
Other info: I tried to make things a little longer than the pattern, because I was doing it in a smaller size. I wanted a more fitted sweater. Unfortunately I didn't make it quite long enough. Ah well, that's what I get for not swatching ^_^

Great job on your first sweater!

Making it longer is a *very* easy fix!

Essentially - you'll be picking up the stitch that are between the ribbing - and the start of the pattern. This is the best place to pick up the stitches - because the pattern will be offset by 1/2 - and the ribbing will hid that.

There's a wee bit of magic as you pull out the ribbing - but once that's done - you'll just be knitting from the top down - of however much ribbing you need to make it long enough.

Hmmm that's a scary thought, but at least then it would fit! Thank you for the advice ^_^

I'm SO glad you finished the other sleeve! Yay! & I love the action shot of it as a sleeveless. I can't wait to see it on. :)

    Congratulations!

Fantastic sweater! (I actually really like it as a tank, too.) And thanks for the way-back comment on my blog -- I'm just getting around to thanking everyone now! But back to your sweater -- sometimes you have to make something for yourself. I'm so glad that you did!
